Najib To Visit Melaka On Feb 4
MELAKA, Jan 27 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak will make a one-day visit to Melaka on Feb 4 where he is scheduled to open the Melaka International Airport in Batu Berendam, Chief Minister Datuk Mohd Ali Rustam said.
The RM190 million airport, which has a new terminal capable of handling 1.5 million passengers a year, is targeted to be an airport hub for health tourism.
After opening the airport, Najib would meet state BN leaders, Mohd Ali told a news conference here which was also attended by Deputy Information Communication and Culture Minister Senator Heng Seai Kie.
Najib's wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, meanwhile, will attend a get-together with women non-governmental organisations at Melaka Botanical Park in Lebuh Ayer Keroh, Hang Tuah Jaya.
Najib's other programmes include a visit to Pantai Siring fishermen development project site and a "walkabout" around Melaka city covering Universiti Teknologi Mara campus in Jalan Tun Ali, hawker centres, Kampung Morten, Sungai Melaka and Jonker Walk.
Later in the night, Najib will attend a 1Malaysia dinner and open the 1Malaysia Square in Pantai Kelebang.
